Bourjois healthy mix battle

Which ones better the healthy mix original or the healthy mix serum?
As you can see I have nearly used up the Bourjois healthy mix foundation original. I absolutely love this foundation it is very nice and the Bourjois foundation shades are amazing for pale skin people like me (I have the Serum in shade 52 and the Original in shade 51). So when I found out that they were bringing out a healthy mix serum I was very tempted, at first I did hold back  for a little while but eventually I just couldn't hold back any longer.

(L to R)serum, original

Coverage?
The Bourjois healthy mix serum I would say has a light to medium coverage it is a very nice everyday foundation.
The Bourjois healthy mix has a medium to buildable coverage this used to be my everyday foundation but now that my skin is getting a little bit better I have been liking a lighter coverage for day time.
Finish?
They both say that they leave a semi matte finish. The Serum has a satin finish very natural looking. The   Original has a more dewy finish not overly dewy but definitely more dewy than the Serum. But again still natural looking.
Texture?
The Serum has a very light texture and it feels like your not even wearing makeup. The Original has a slightly thicker texture but it is still light on the skin.
Lasting power?
The Serum last for about up to 8 hours looking perfect. The Original last for about up to 9 hours looking perfect. I do use a primer and foundations do tend to last on my skin quite well anyway.
Packaging?
The Serum has a very nice glass bottle which I do think looks more expensive. The original has a plastic bottle and a black lid which I do think looks sophisticated.
Pumps?
I know that this is a odd one but I thought i would share my opinion. The Serum has a very nice pump because it distributes just the right amount of product. The Original pump is a little bit harder to control.
Which one is better?
It really depends on what you are looking for in terms of coverage. If you are looking for a natural everyday foundation I would recommend the serum. If you are looking for a medium coverage foundation that will cover most of your imperfections but still looks quite natural then I would recommend the Original.

Overall my favourite is the Healthy mix serum it is my kind of everyday foundation that looks natural but still covers. But I do still love the Healthy mix original for say if I was having a bad skin day or sometimes I just want a fuller coverage. I love them both but I love the serum more.

I hope this has helped you decide which Bourjois healthy mix foundation you want or hopefully you at least understand the differences between them.

Saturday scents: Harajuku lovers G

Today for Saturday scents I have chosen Gwen Stefani's Harujuku lovers G perfume. This one is from the Wicked collection. They retail for £10.99 for 10ml at fragrance direct.

G is a fruity floral fragrance. It has top notes of apple, peach and pineapple. The mid notes of watermelon, butterfly blush, peony. Base notes of raspberry, musk and water aqueous.

I think that the bottles are super cute and pretty. I have two already I have G and love both from the summer collection. They are great collectable items. I hope you are enjoying Saturday scents.

Avon colortrend read my lips lipgloss review

I have already done a review on the Avon glazwear lipglosses. To see review click here Colortrend is avons budget range, the lipglosses are very good value for money. They retail for £3.75 but at the moment it is buy 1 get one for £1. I think that the packaging is alright but I do think that it does have a cheapy look to it.
(T to B)Watermelon ice, Orange crush, Start up pink
(L to R)Orange crush, Watermelon ice, Start up pink
I have watermelon ice, orange crush and start up pink. I do really like these colours but I must say that the swatches on the brochures aren't very accurate. The colours aren't extremely pigmented but they do have pretty good colour pay off.
(Watermelon ice)
(Orange crush)
(Start up pink)
Watermelon ice is a icey pink, orange crush is a coraly colour and start up pink is a dark pink they are all really pretty colours my favourite is orange crush. These lip glosses aren't sticky at all I think Avon must have some special recipe for none sticky lipglosses because every lipgloss I have tried from them it hasn't been sticky at all.I would definetly recommened these lipglosses.

Have you tried these lipglosses, what do you think? Also it would be great if you wanted to follow my blog on bloglovin or your google account. There is a button for both on the right that you just have to click and it will let you follow my blog. Thanks!!

Saturday scents: Jimmy Choo Eau De Parfum

I was in selfridges a few days ago and I went over to test this perfume and it is beautiful. But I don't think that I will ever be able to justify buying it because it is £68 for 100ml. So if you are ever passing by I would definetly recommend giving it a smell.
They say that it is a modern fruity chypre with warm, rich, woody depths. With luminous green top notes, an aura of rich exotis tiger orchid and base notes of sweet toffee meld with inodonsian patchouli. Now I don't know what some of those are but they smell amazing together.

The bottle is very pretty and very safisticated and expensive looking, which it is. Maybe I will be able to hold myself from shopping for a while and just save up for this but I don't know if I will be able to do it. I love this perfume and hopefully someday I will own it, I hope you are enjoying Saturday scents.

Yankee Candles wax tarts

It is only a very mini haul but I just thought why not. I bought three mini wax burners for 90p in this little shop that I found when I was on holiday in Llandudno. I bought strawberry buttercream, vanilla lime and pink sands.
(L to R) strawberry buttercream, vanilla lime, pink sands

The first one I tried was pink sands. I have taken some pictures to show you how it works.
This is what the wax tart looks like without the wrapper on.
This is my wax burner this is also from Yankee candle. It is called the cream petal wax burner. I got it from The Lowry outlet for £4.99.
For it to work, you put a tea light underneath the pot where you place the wax tart. The heat will melt the wax.
You place the wax tart in the pot.
As you can see here, nearly all the wax had melted and the room smells lovely.
If you want to stop using it, you simply blow out the tealight and let it cool and it will harden back into wax.
As you can see here, it is very simple to get the wax tart back out once it has cooled down, you just turn the pot upside down and the tart falls out

This is what the tart now looks like and you can keep using it till it all melts.

If you have ever tried Yankee candles before you will know how amazing they smell and what a wide variety of fragrances they have. So if you were wondering if you should try the wax tarts I would definetly recommend them and they look like they will last for a good amount of time.

17 sheer moisture foundation review

The packaging isn't that bad it is black which I think is quite safisticated. The squeezy bottle is quite hard to control so it does sometimes distibute too much product. There are only two shades to choose from I believe (light, medium) mine is in light. Which isn't actually that light. This retails for around £4.99 from Boots.
The coverage is as the name suggest sheer personally it is too sheer for me. It is like a tinted moisturiser personally I like at least a light to medium coverage. Like I said before the colour isn't actually that light but because the coverage is sheer you can get away with it.
It is a nice formula it does feel very light on the skin and feels nice and moisturising. It leaves a nice dewy finish but not greasy. I would use a moisturiser before I put this on but I do have normal to dry skin, so if you have oily skin I would probably suggest skipping the moisturiser and just use this.

Overall if you have pretty good skin anyway and you just want to look a little bit more put together and glowing. This I find will do the job I find that it just gives a little bit more colour to my face and makes you look healthier. It also contains spf12 which I guess is always good.

Saturday scents: Eau de soap & glory

Again I don't actually have this perfume but it is definitely on my wish list. I love soap & glory especially because their products smell divine. My friend a few days ago was telling me about this perfume and she was saying that she absolutely loved it.
It has top notes of jasmine, freesia, citrus, mandarin and bergamont with a mix of musks, sandlewood, vanilla and amber. I love the smell of vanilla so this again is another factor for me to want this fragrance even more.

I think that the bottle is really pretty and expensive looking. It retails for £16.50 for 50ml from Boots and Harvey Nichols. I hope you are enjoying my Saturday scents.

Liz Earle skincare review

I love buying mini kits to test out before buying the full size of things because you get everything that that you would need in you're daily skincare routine. Before I bought this I had already tried the Liz Earle cleanse and polish and I love it. But I had never tried the toner, moisturiser or mask, so I thought that I would give them a whirl. It got the dry/sensitive essentials try-me kit which costs £23.25.
(left to right) cleanser, toner, moisturiser, mask

Cleanse & Polish cleanser 30ml
I already had this and it is amazing as I am sure you will all know because everyone talks about it and it has won so many awards. It gets rid of makeup beautifully and gives you a nice gently clean.
Instant boost skin tonic 50ml
I was actually really surprised by this product I wasn't really to fussed about toners before i bought this but it is really nice it just makes your skin feel more refreshed and clean after you have cleansed. I don't think it is anything spectacular but it is very nice and doesn't irritate or dry out my skin.
Skin repair moisturiser dry/sensitive 15ml
This is a very nice moisturising moisturiser that won't irritate your skin. But personally I don't think that it is worth the money. So if you are just looking for a nice simple moisturiser then I would recommend this but I think that say a Simple moisturiser would do the job just as well for less.
Intensive nourishing treatment mask 15ml
I was actually quite disappointed with this product I just felt that it didn't do much for my skin and wasn't even that moisturising. It is supposed to put some moisture back into your skin but i fell that it just wasn't that good.

Cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser 100ml is £12.25, Instant boost skin tonic 200ml £12.25, Skin repair moisturiser 50ml £18.25 and Intensive nourishing treatment mask 50ml £13.50.

On there own i would definitely recommend the cleanser and toner but the other two i would say that you could get better elsewhere.
I hope this helped.

Bourjois healthy mix serum foundation review

I really like this foundation. The packaging is nice and sophisticated, it has a glass bottle. I have colour 52 which is my colour when I'm a little bit tanned. It retails for around £10.99.
The coverage is light to medium coverage. The texture and coverage reminds me quite a lot of my Chanel vitalumiere aqua foundation. It is very light and feels like your not wearing any makeup. The pump distributes a good amount too, so that you don't waste any product.
It leaves a semi matte finish. It definitely isn't matte but it isn't overly dewy it is just in between. It stays on for about 8 hours on an average day looking perfect. It does have a scent to it, which I actually really like but if you do have sensitive skin that it may break you out.
                               Before
                                After
Overall I really really like this foundation. If you are looking for a light to medium coverage, natural, everyday foundation then I would definitely would recommend this to you. Also if you were thinking of buying Chanel vitalumiere aqua foundation a lot of people say that this is a dupe for that and I have to agree, they are practically the same.

Top 5 collection 2000 products

I must admit when I first started buying makeup I never really saw Collection 2000 as a good brand. I thought that it was just cheap and you got what you payed for. But I actually really like a lot of the products from Collection 2000 so here are my top 5 in order.

1. My favourite collection 2000 product is there lasting perfection ultimate wear concealer. It is only £4.19 and it is amazing. I sure you will of heard of it before. It gives very high coverage it doesn't look cakey and it stays on for a long time as well.
(top to bottom) 1fair, 2 light
2. My 2nd favourite is the cream puff moisturising lip cream. They are only £2.99 they have 4 shades I have three. They are all matte but there not drying at all. My favourite colour is   , they smell really nice and they stay on for a pretty good time as well.
(T to B)cotton candy, cream puff, fairy cake
(top to bottom)cotton candy, cream puff, fairy cake
3.My 3rd favourite is there shimmer shades in way to glow. They are really nice as eyeshadows and well pigmented. But you can all so use them as a highlight, 2 bronzers and a blush. They aren't chalky and they stay on for a good time and its only £3.99. They also have one with four blusher shades called blushalicious which I might just have to pick next time I go to boots.

4. My 4th favourite is he shimmering glow bronzer in 5 sunkissed. It just gives such a nice healthy bronzy glow to the face with a little bit of shimmer. It is really nice for when your on holiday and you don't want to wear much makeup but you want to look a little bit sunkissed then you can just pop this on all over your face and your done. It has got slight gold shimmer in it so it isn't the best for contouring, but it is lovely for giving you a nice healthy glow.

5. This is last but by no means least favourite. It is the lock n Hold lipgloss. Mine is in 5 Urban Punk it is a nice icy nude. It isn't my favourite colour of lipgloss but I will definitely by buying more because they last for ages and they aren't  very sticky.

Collection 2000 is actually re-branding into just Collection. So I would like to try the new products. So i would definitely try out checking out the shops because I am sure that they will be having a sale on the old packaging. I hope you liked my Top 5 Collection 2000 products.

Saturday scents: Avon perccive perfume

First of the packaging is lovely and expensive looking. But it is plastic so it doesn't feel as expensive as it looks. This is the other perfume that I bought with the Avon buy one get one for 99p offer.

It is a fresh, floral musky scent. It is one of my more sophisticated smelling perfumes. I absolutely love the bottle, I think it looks really nice on my shelf with the rest of my perfumes.

I hope you are enjoying my Saturday scents.

July favourites

August is here and I hope you like my July favourites.

Maybelline super stay 24hr concealer
I don't know if I like this better than my Collection 2000 concealer but I have been reaching for this more. It is full coverage and doesn't look cakey.
Regen oil
I have quite a few scars from spots and my skin wasn't very soft. But now my skin feels a lot more hydrated and softer and the scars are fading, after using this.
Benetint
I had neglected my benetint for quite a while now but I forgot how much I love it for a natural flush of colour on the lips or cheeks. It just helps you look a little healthier.
Collection 2000 cream puff
Mine is in cotton candy it is a really pretty dark pink, I really like the Collection 2000 cream puff lip creams and I have just been reaching for this a lot recently.
Avon nail experts liquid freeze quick dry nail spray
This is really helpful for when you are in a rush. You just paint your nails like usual and then spray them with this and they will dry a lot faster.
Nars oil free face primer
I must say this isn't anything special and I am sure that there is a drugstore alternative. But I haven't wanted my foundation to be too matte or too dewy and this is the perfect inbetween.
L'oreal 6hr glam shine lipgloss
It smells really nice, it isn't sticky, stays for a long time and it is a really nice pretty pink colour. The colour is 102 always pink.
Mac pro longwear lipstick
Mine is in overtime it comes up quite bright it is really creamy and stays for a long time.
Nars eyeshadow duo in sugarland
I don't wear these to colours together. But on there own I love them especially the purple, it surprisingly looks very natural.
Elf HD powder
This has helped for if I look a little bit shiny and it just helps combat the shine. I find a lot that powders tend to make me look orange so it is great that this is clear.
Origins mega mushroom redness serum
I have been getting very red spots recently and this has helped reduce the redness of the spot.
(top to bottom) cream puff cotton candy, Benetint,
L'oreal 102, Mac overtime

(Nars sugarland eyeshadow duo)
(Elf HD powder)

I hope you liked my July favourites.
